Ruff Ruff Ranch is a family owned and operated business built near our home and personal to us in every way. Greg, Shelly, and Presley Burden are hands-on in the daily care, with a background in raising and showing cattle and over 40 years of experience caring for animals.

This is a place we would trust with our own dogs. Every detail of the facility is designed to be safe, clean, and comfortable. Whether your dog is here for a day or an extended stay, our goal is simple. To provide consistent care in a calm, structured, and secure environment.

Our facility is monitored by cameras 24 hours a day, with owners on-site to ensure your dog is always cared for.

  • Kennels are painted and sealed for thorough cleaning

  • We use commercial, pet-safe disinfectants designed specifically for kennel environments

  • All common areas are cleaned and disinfected daily

We designed our facility around the same priorities we have for our own dogs: cleanliness and safety. We believe in creating a space that’s not only secure, but transparent, because we understand how much trust you’re placing in us when you leave your pet in a new environment.

  • Individual rooms with their own doors

  • If a dog were to get out of their kennel, they remain safely contained within their kennel room

This setup ensures every dog is accounted for and secure at all times.

Comfort & Daily Care

We believe structure and routine help dogs feel more at ease.

  • Feeding twice daily (with accommodations for special schedules)

  • Dedicated time and attention for dogs with medical or specific needs

  • Ability to administer medications

  • Storage cubbies for food and personal belongings

  • Refrigeration available for food and medications

Every dog receives care tailored to their needs so they can feel comfortable and settled during their stay. We make it a priority that every dog gets time outside of their kennel each day. Even if group play isn’t the right fit, they’ll still be taken out individually to stretch their legs and enjoy one-on-one time.

For Pet Owners Who Are New To Boarding

We understand leaving your dog somewhere new isn’t always easy.

That’s why we’ve designed Ruff Ruff Ranch to eliminate common concerns:

  • Kennels extend to the ceiling, giving each dog their own space, with glass doors so they can still see their neighbors and feel less alone.

  • Only dogs who live together at home are allowed to stay together in suites, so each dog still has their own time and space.

  • Our structured setup helps reduce stress, noise, and overstimulation

  • We take the time to understand your dog’s needs and routine

Veterinary Support

We have a standing relationship with an on-call veterinarian, Dr. Eberhart, so we’re prepared to respond quickly if any concerns arise.

We know how it goes. Nights, weekends, and time away are often when pets need care the most.

Conveniently located in Canton, Texas, Ruff Ruff Ranch serves Dallas, Tyler, Sulphur Springs, Lindale, and Athens. Located on a ranch just outside of town, it feels quiet and relaxed while still being close and convenient.

Health and safety of your pet is our #1 concern.  

Kennels are painted and sealed so that they can be cleaned daily with a commercial disinfectant specifically for kennels and safe for your doggies.  Common areas are cleaned and disinfected DAILY.
